Australia day is a date to celebrate all the qualities this nations has and how lucky you are to be surrounded by beaches, wildlife, great food, good music and, of course, sunshine.
So, are you ready for the Australia Day celebrations?
Well, there is sure plenty of options to chose from and this is definitely not a day you can find a quiet place to go to, unless you stay home. But even that is not a guarantee of quietness, I am sure at least two of your neighbors will be hosting a barbie.
There are options for everyone, and I mean it, EVERYONE, and for every ‘pocket’ too.
If you are in for the big festivals, Big Day Out Sydney is back on Australia Day, so if you haven’t got your tickets yet but wants to go and want to see bands like Pearl Jam, Arcade Fire, The Hives and many more you can still get tickets.
Are you a beer lover? The sixth annual Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers poll will be announced during the day in many bars across the country. You can head out to the Union Hotel Newtown if in Sydney. Check more places here.
If you don’t feel like spending much but still would like to enjoy some free-open-air music, you should go to The Rocks on George st. The event starts at midday and goes until 6pm, the markets will be on, and you can choose your Aussie favorite song and have fun at the karaoke in Atherden Street.
Many bars are having special day events, places like: the Coogee Bay Hotel, Cargo Bar, the Welcome Hotel in Rozelle, Goldfish in Kings Cross, and many others.
You still have the Sydney Fish Market, Crocodile Dundee at Ben & Jerry’s Openair Cinema down in Bondi, or you can host your own party.
You should also check out your council’s official web page to know what is going on near you.
Most of all, take this day to enjoy yourself and don’t forget the sunscreen!
